"Winning" Four Years Later
Monday, April 9, 2007 @ 12:33pm

In 2004, 17 percent of Iraqis called it "acceptable" to attack coalition forces. Today, that number is 51 percent, by the Pentagon's own polling. And among Sunni Arabs, that number has gone from 14 to more than 70.

Meanwhile, "hundreds of thousands" Shiites march the streets, burning American flags. Can you say, worn out our welcome?

Since most of us have grown tired of watching the train wreck by now, here's a quick summary of the month so far:

Today, Monday April 9: 22 Iraqis Killed, 55 Wounded
Sunday, April 8: 1 GIs, 73 Iraqis Killed; 95 Iraqis Wounded
Saturday, April 7: 3 GIs, 96 Iraqis Killed; 105 Iraqis Wounded
Friday, April 6: 112 Iraqis, 2 GIs Killed; 80 Iraqis Wounded
Thursday, April 5: 6 GIs, 4 Britons, 83 Iraqis Killed Down
Wednesday, April 4: 3 GIs, 54 Iraqis Killed; 52 Iraqis Wounded, 48 Kidnapped
Tuesday, April 3: 64 Iraqis, 1 Marine Killed; 46 Iraqis Wounded
Monday, April 2: 3 GIs, 1 Briton, 84 Iraqis Killed; 280 Iraqis Wounded
Sunday, April 1: 7 GIs, 1 Briton, 71 Iraqis Killed; 34 Iraqis Wounded

I won't bother with the total counts in lives or money.

Happy birthday, Iraqi occupation.
